Become A Member of Troop 96

It is easy to become a Boy Scout.  Visit one of our meetings and ask to talk to a leader about joining.

All new scouts are required to complete an application. Annual registration is required for Boy Scout of America

Fees are as follows:
$33.00 for National Registration and Insurance.
$12.00 for Boys Life Magazine.
Since Troop 96 charter begins on Jan 1, all new Scouts may pay a prorated fee for the remainder of the year, depending on when they register.

For questions about completing the application, or about the Scout Program, please contact Scoutmaster Michael O'Neill. Interested in contributing?

Express your interest to the unit leaders—the Scoutmaster, Asst Scoutmasters or any committee member. While there's no guarantee that a specific role or position will be available—and there may be a selection process among several candidates even if the position is currently vacant—there is usually some way in which you can contribute, and we would be glad for any offer of help.

How about becoming a merit badge counselor?

The merit badge counselor is a key player in the Boy Scout advancement program. Whatever your area of expertise or interest—whether it is a special craft or hobby (basketry, leatherwork, coin collecting), a profession (veterinary medicine, aviation, engineering), or perhaps a life skill (cooking, personal management, communications)—as a merit badge counselor, you can play a vital role in stirring a young man's curiosity about that particular topic. By serving as a merit badge counselor, you offer your time, knowledge, and other resources so that Scouts can explore a topic of interest.

All Adult members are required to fill out an adult application
Merit badge Counselors must also fill out a merit badge information sheet
